Hullo, bookdragons!
It has been *checks notes* about four months since I last posted and wow that was a very long time ago. I have been trying to find the motivation to write a post but failed each time…until now. I am temporarily back please clap!!
I’m here to give you more romance webtoon recommendations and this time there are even a few manga in the mix. Every single work in this post is completed(!!!), which I hope will make a lot of y’all happy. I am one of those people who can’t help but read 40+ ongoing webtoons/manga and sob when I can no longer keep up with them all. To the people who aren’t fond of waiting for monthly or weekly updates and are fond of binging things in a few hours, this rec post is for you.
However, I must admit that this list is not as varied as I would have liked because a lot of my faves are still ongoing. I did enjoy all of the works on this post and I wish that they would also give you the same comfort I felt when I picked them up.
For more webtoon recommendations, check out my other recommendation post here!
Some notes before I start:
- When I say webtoon I mean it as an umbrella term for all online comics including original English works, manhua (Chinese comics), manhwa (Korean comics), etc. I use the term manga separately because it usually refers to Japanese works that can be read from right to left unlike webtoons that are read from left to right (and from top to bottom). This is probably common knowledge but my brain is fussy so you just have to bear with it 😭
- I know all the webtoons and manga in this list can be found on scanlating sites like Mangadex and Mangaowl but in this post, I will only be linking official sites. I’m also including links to their Anilist page if you want to know more about the works in this list.
Okay let’s begin!

WEBTOON AND MANGA RECOMMENDATIONS

Ooh La La by Je-Min
Chapters: 41
Date finished: October 12, 2020
Description: Gom-Yung and Min-Han are dating, but it’s not your typical relationship. They may look uninterested with each other but with a little bit of spice along their way, their relationship slowly starts to develop.
This webtoon is probably the greatest reason why I finally sat down and wrote this post to completion. I finished this recently and just…fell in love. Ooh La La follows two people who very spontaneously got into a relationship the first time they met each other. This webtoon is silly and barely has any plot, but it’s cute and funny and everything we need in this miserable world. The interactions between the two main characters are nothing short of endearing, despite how strange they both are. As much as I thrive off drama and angst, I still want to read stories that are full of fluff and will give me unabashed joy. Ooh La La is one of those stories. I highly recommend this to people who want a short read that will make them laugh out loud. In short, read this if you want to be happy.

Positively Yours by Lee Jung (Story) & Kang Ki (Art)
Chapters: 72
Date finished: September 6, 2020
Description: To Hee-won’s dismay, the BFF she crushed on and her other BFF are now dating! Seriously bummed, Hee-won decides to go wild just one time, and find solace with a handsome stranger. A very satisfying one night affair has now turned into more — she’s pregnant! Fate brings them together again, and now the regimented Doo-joon is determined to do the right thing and marry her. But they’re basically strangers! Except… their bodies have been very intimately acquainted. What’s this mother-to-be to do?
There’s so much tension you can pack into stories with accidental pregnancy and Positively Yours absolutely delivered. This webtoon has the right amount of drama and fluff that will keep you invested up to the last chapter. It also features a male lead who is so down bad for his beloved and I just know we’re all obsessed with that. The art is also absolutely gorgeous it’s basically food for the eyes. You’ll probably yearn for a swoony love story of your own after reading this, but sometimes we just have to accept that yearning is a small consequence when you’re presented with an incredibly romantic love story like Positively Yours.

Unlucky Mansion by Yaggug
Chapters: 72
Date finished: January 4, 2018
Description: Kang Eun-Joo loses both her house and job at the same time. When she discovers a working position at a mansion, she immediately grabs the chance! How will her life as a live-in caretaker in a mansion play out, with a rude employer she immediately butts heads with?
A story of unusual people in an unusual mansion!
Aside from the slow burn romance, I appreciate how introspective Unlucky Mansion is. It features characters who are just Trying Their Best as adults and although I often don’t want to be perceived, reading this webtoon was somehow cathartic. Like a lot of slice of life stories, this one hardly has any conflict but it will make your heart fuller by the end of it.

Here U Are by DJUN
Chapters: 157
Date finished: November 2, 2020
Description: Receiving the newcomers is a task for Yu Yang, and he ends up helping the unsociable and towering Li Huan, the kind of person that does everything to be disliked. But after better knowing each other, he discovers that the giant isn’t that bad of a person at all…
Here U Are is one of the most emotional webtoons on this list. It has tender and angsty moments that cut me right through. With a cast of mostly queer characters, Here U Are is a story that highlights identity, acceptance, and self-love. All the characters here are easy to love, especially the grumpy x sunshine main pairing. It is not difficult to be invested in the love stories of the side characters as well. There is also the soft, cool vibe of the art that is comforting and very pretty to look at. There’s so much that you can take away from this webtoon. It is truly worth the read.

A Business Proposal by Haehwa (Story), Deulkkae (Art), and NARAK (Art)
Chapters: 102
Date finished: December 25, 2020
Description: Ha-ri made a deal—go on one blind date for her BFF and pretend to be a super-vixen to end all of her unwanted marriage set-ups! Unfortunately, instead of easy money, Ha-ri’s got a headache. Her date is Taemu, her company’s hot new CEO, and he’s got his own plans to get his family to back off by marrying whoever shows up on the date. Should Ha-ri accept his proposal to keep playing pretend? Nothing could go wrong with lying about your real identity while dating the boss…right??
This is one of those romances that is full of cliches but you will love anyway because it’s very entertaining and addictive. For fake dating enjoyers, this one’s for you. I can guarantee that if you pick up A Business Proposal, you will somehow binge 100+ chapters in no time and still ask for more. Worry not because the Korean drama adaptation of this webtoon is set to release next year (I think?). Read this now before the drama comes out!

Gingerly in Love by Hi (Story & Art) and Im Jeong-won (Original Story)
Chapters: 46
Date finished: August 28, 2019
Description: A 1000-year-old ginseng turns into a human to find her true love.
Yes. You read that right. This webtoon is indeed about an immortal ginseng person and no I will not elaborate. The human mind knows no bounds. I precisely read this webtoon because of its bizarre description and amazingly, I did end up liking it. The art is cute and the main characters have great chemistry. Another thing on the plus side is that you can read this in one sitting. See? It’s a win-win situation. I know you’re curious about the ginseng bit too. Pick this up now.

What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim? by Jeong Gyeongyun (Story) and Kim Myeongmi (Art)
Chapters: 98
Date finished: September 19, 2018
Description: Handsome, loaded, and arrogant Youngjoon is the VP of a major corporation. Miso has been his perfect secretary, practically legend for surviving her narcissistic boss for 9 long years. But now that she’s quitting, is there really nothing—or no one—that can stop her from walking away?
Yes, this is indeed the same story as that popular Korean drama. I have watched the drama (well sort of) before I read this but I still found the reading experience quite enjoyable. I’m the type of person who loves to compare two pieces of media and see how similar or different they are from each other. Even if you already know this story from the drama, I can still say that the webtoon is worth the read for the art. I do have a soft spot for the artist who is also the creator of one of my favorite romance webtoons, An Hour of Romance (it’s still ongoing though). You can check that out as well 😉

The Lady With a Mask by Park Hanna (Story), MIN (Story), and Merin (Art)
Chapters: 55
Date finished: May 17, 2019
Description: By day Bo-Ram Eom is a secretary, but by night she’s secretly a children’s storybook author under the pen name Bo-Ram. Too talented to be just an office worker, she created The Child with A Mask to escape her terrible boss, Se-Hu Kwon. Sure, he’s attractive, intelligent, but he’s also super rude! And now, he wants to find the creator of the book. How long can she keep her identity secret? And why does her boss want to meet her…
It’s obvious that I had an office romance phase because this is the third office romance webtoon on this list. They’re entertaining to me even though they’re kinda cliche okay 😭 The Lady With a Mask features a handsome boss and his secretary who is also the author of his nephew’s favorite children’s book. This webtoon is short and doesn’t have too much drama so it’s perfect if you’re looking for something to read when you’re procrastinating on your other obligations. I say this from experience, of course.

Something About Us by Lee Yeonji
Chapters: 117
Date finished: October 19, 2016
Description: They consider themselves the best of friends. Others seem to think otherwise. There’s something about their relationship that’s hard to describe. What will become of these two “friends”?
This webtoon has a special place in my heart because it rekindled my love for the bestfriends-to-lovers trope. It made me realize that wow two best friends who keep pining for each other but never confess their love because they don’t want to destroy their friendship is actually some good food. How did I not realize sooner that this trope is a perfect vessel for angst and a lot of other scrumptious feelings? Indeed, you can feel all of these in Something About Us. The mutual pining is immaculate and the payoff is absolutely satisfying. PLEASE READ THIS.

Will You Marry Me Again If You Are Reborn? by Miku Morinaga
Chapters: 25
Date finished: September 20, 2019
Description: Toranosuke fell in love with his servant Kaoru. For twenty years, they slowly developed their love for each other, thus a Showa couple of clumsy husband and muscle brained wife was born. They spend a lot of time together, and they begin to talk in a nostalgic manner in Toranosuke’s hospital room. Gentle memories of a deeply in love husband and wife.
The title speaks for itself. It is no surprise that I cried so many times when I read this manga, and I’m not just talking about a teary-eyed level of emotional distress. I really sobbed my eyes out while reading this. Will you marry me again if you are reborn? is a manga that spans decades and is told in alternating timelines between past and present. It is equal parts beautiful and heartbreaking. It tells a story of war, tragedy, and the wonders of growing old with the people you love the most. This is definitely one of the best manga I have ever read. It made me believe in love again and I can’t recommend it enough.

Sesame Salt and Pudding by Yufuko Suzuki
Chapters: 20
Date finished: November 13, 2020
Description: Haruhi, a 22-year-old machine operator, woke up one day to find that she drunkenly married an older man the night before. They make a deal and end up living together!
I read this on a whim (to procrastinate on my academic obligations of course what else is new) and really enjoyed it. This is a story about a spontaneous drunken marriage between two people who have a huge age gap (the male lead may or may not be a DILF heheheh). Of course, this manga isn’t perfect but I was satisfied by how most of the conflicts were handled despite the manga’s short length. Ultimately, Sesame Salt and Pudding is an endearing read with a satisfying ending that will warm your heart.

HONORABLE MENTIONS
I’m putting these webtoons as honorable mentions because I already featured them in my other webtoon recs post. If you want to know more about my thoughts on these webtoons, check that post out!
You can read all of these for free on the WEBTOON app. They are all my favorites and I highly recommend them so please pick them up if you haven’t yet!!

Gourmet Hound by Leehama
Description: Lucy, a woman with an uncanny sense of taste and smell, discovers that her favorite restaurant has changed kitchen staff–and she does not know the identity of the chef whose cooking she’s loved for years. When a lucky accident leads her to two former chefs at Dimanche, she decides that she will do her utmost to track down each of their old colleagues in order to rediscover that “perfect taste“.

Freaking Romance by Snailords
Description: A sexy supernatural story about being out on your own, finding your dream apartment and discovering that your new place is haunted by a handsome spectral stranger from another dimension. Sure, HE can’t see you and YOU can’t touch him, but who said every relationship starts out perfectly?

Devil Number 4 by Jangjing (Writer) and Woombeee (Artist)
Description: When a down-on-her-luck student runs out of money – and hope – it’s time for the devil to make his entrance and give her an offer she can’t refuse. But this devil has problems of his own. He’s a cog in Satan’s corporate ladder, who’s quickly losing credibility because that same desperate girl isn’t ready to part with her soul willingly. Now, she’s working at his coffee shop while he tries to convince her that she can have it all. And the cost? Merely her mortal soul…

Scorching Romance by Hongchi
Description: Her blood runs hot, and her temper is even hotter – even when it’s the cold of winter. To lift the flaming curse she’s carried since she was a little girl, high schooler Ember must find her cold equivalent… But finding a match whose blood runs as cold as her’s does hot isn’t going to be easy, especially when the only way to turn the powerful curse away is to KISS that person right on their frigid lips. High school dramas usually run hot-and-cold, but there’s never been a story as fun and fiery as Scorching Romance!

Miss Abbott and the Doctor by Maripaz Villar
Description: Doctor Andreas Marino loves his quiet life, filled with work and simple amusements, and when the strange Miss Abbott arrives in his town he decides he doesn’t like her at all. Unfortunately, she’s funny and quirky, has an uncommon past, and seems to enjoy getting him in trouble. Welcome to a sketchy Victorian rom-com!

That’s it for now! I’m pretty sure this is not my last webtoon recs post because I know I’ll keep reading more so stay tuned 😉 I post at random so that may come one week from now or two years later. Who knows? I love keeping y’all on your toes. (It has nothing to do with the fact that it’s difficult to find the motivation to post haha nothing at all).
I hope you found something you would want to read from this list! If you have queries or want more webtoon recs (even the ongoing ones), you can follow me on Twitter since I usually tweet about the things I read over there. You can also follow me on Anilist if you want to be updated with the webtoons and manga I’m currently reading (and also the anime I’m watching hehe).
