I’m finally breathing fresh air again because I’M ALREADY DONE WITH MY FINAL EXAMS! I spent three days without proper sleep and gained a huge pimple on my forehead with all the stress but I still survived everything. It’s not as great as saving a kingdom on the verge of destruction but I still feel the same kind of victory nonetheless. I’m not happy about the pimple but it’s just a minor setback, right??? Right.
Anyway, this post isn’t about my life as a struggling student but it’s an announcement post for one of the greatest things that has ever happened since chocolates! I’M TALKING ABOUT THE YEAR OF THE ASIAN READING CHALLENGE which is hosted by four of the greatest bloggers I know—CW, Lily, Shealea and Vicky.
I don’t really join reading challenges but this one is too great to miss. I have already voiced out my desires to read more books by Asian authors this year and it seems like the book deities really heard my prayers because this challenge is here to give me more motivation. The Year of the Asian Reading Challenge encourages every bookdragon to read Asian books—may they be backlist titles, ARCs, or new releases. To know more about YARC, check out CW’s post here. SIGN-UP AND JOIN US TOO! There will be epic giveaways, monthly link-ups, prompts, recommendations, and twitter chats. YOU DON’T WANT TO MISS THIS, BOOKDRAGONS.
There are different challenge levels you can choose from and as much as I want to aim for that Bengali Tiger (50+ books read), I really don’t have any more sacrificial arms to spare. Even though I want to read all the books, school is just too big of a hindrance to all my reading goals.
THE MALAYAN TAPIR LOOKS JUST AS GOOD ANYWAY so I’m choosing it for now. Here’s to wishing I can read 21-30 Asian books this year!
WHAT BOOKS DO I WANT TO READ?
I’m a mood reader so consistent TBR lists don’t really work for me. This time though, I’m making a tentative list to make my life more organized. Here are some Asian books I want to read this year:
(Yeah I want to read A LOT of books. No one is even surprised. Especially not my wallet which is now lighter than a feather)
WHAT BOOKS SHOULD YOU READ?
I’ll send you all the chocolates and will give your first-born child the gift of endless wisdom if you join this challenge. ALL THESE ASIAN BOOKS DESERVE LOVE AND ATTENTION so if you’re thinking of joining, you may want to read my personal faves:
ALL THE ASIAN BOOKS MAKE MY HEART SO FULL THAT I’M ONE STEP AWAY FROM SPONTANEOUS COMBUSTION BECAUSE OF THESE HAPPY FEELS. I’m one proud dragon who sees this reading challenge as a huge blessing.
Are you going to join YARC? What Asian release are you most excited for? Oh and tell me your favorite Asian-inspired books!
